His first victory for Ferrari means he has now recorded wins with three constructors: McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari.

Hamilton is the first driver in more than a decade to claim a race victory for a third different constructor. The previous driver to join this group was Sebastian Vettel in 2015, when he took his first win for Ferrari.

The only other active driver on the grid to have won for three different teams is Fernando Alonso, who, like Hamilton, has taken wins with McLaren and Ferrari.

Many drivers who have won for three different constructors went on to become world champions, though there are notable exceptions. One prominent example is Stirling Moss, who recorded victories for the most different constructors of any driver but never secured a world title.
