UK Supreme Court to Hear Massa Crashgate Case — Latest Updates

Welcome to Thursday’s edition of the RaceFans round-up.

Comment of the day

Formula 1 has been too conservative with its power unit changes for next season, says @RedPill:

I’m not sure why they couldn’t just bite the bullet, rip off the Band-Aid, start working on new drawings, and go straight to 13% next season (60/40)? I’m guessing that will mean now there will be two new different PU designs, one for each upcoming season (’27, ’28) to meet the new stated specs?

Still not great, and not exactly what drivers and fans are looking for. Appears we’ll all have to suffer and bite our time (1-1/2 seasons more) so the PU manufacturers (Audi etc…) can appease themselves and be allowed to choose their timeline; where 2030 is really when we could see things change?

So it’s disappointing for fans that this is all happening. Good thing there’s so much other types of racing going on right now to watch.

In one way, motorsport fans can thank Liberty and F1 for giving us the incentive and making other racing more attractive to follow and invest in. I guess that’s a silver lining.
