Blick reported that Prost sustained a minor head injury after a group of masked intruders entered his residence on Tuesday. One of Prost’s sons was allegedly forced to empty the family safe during the incident.
Prost, 71, competed in Formula 1 from 1980 until 1993 and maintains a home near Lake Geneva.
A statement from the public prosecutor’s office did not name any victims but described the events: “The perpetrators entered the residence while the occupants were present, threatened them, and forced one family member to open a safe before fleeing with the stolen goods. Despite the extensive search operation launched, the perpetrators have not yet been apprehended.”
The statement added that the burglars “broke into the house [and] once inside, threatened the occupants and inflicted minor head injuries upon one family member, under circumstances that remain to be established.”
