After a strong start to the season, McLaren’s drivers left the Canadian Grand Prix with far less to celebrate.
The team faced the prospect of missing the podium for the first time this year. Things got worse when Lando Norris clipped the rear of his championship-leading teammate Oscar Piastri while attempting an overtake, forcing himself out of the race.
Piastri, fortunately, managed to continue and reach the finish. Norris immediately acknowledged responsibility for the incident and apologised to his team and team mate.
