Formula 1 needs a clearer stance on whether so-called ‘B teams’ such as Racing Bulls are allowed, says @Tifoso1989:

The FIA needs to stop sitting on the fence: either ban multi-team ownership altogether, or fully embrace it and create a clear framework. I don’t like this inconsistent grey area where some benefit while others are held back.

IndyCar Officiating announces Long Beach push-to-pass findings (IndyCar)

Long Beach Grand Prix winner Alex Palou was one of 12 drivers who activated push-to-pass when it was not permitted. Felix Rosenqvist used it for longer and finished second, while third-placed Scott Dixon did not use it outside permitted periods. IndyCar said it did not view the matter as a team or driver infraction and made no changes to the official results.

From paddock to pitch, Miami stadium races to prepare for World Cup after F1 (Reuters)

Argentine great Lionel Messi visited the Miami Grand Prix paddock to see Alpine driver Franco Colapinto and walked across the temporary turf laid over the stadium’s field of play. Within hours of the race ending, preparations began to convert the venue back to a real grass surface for the upcoming World Cup.

  • Born on this day in 1958: Tommy Byrne, British F3 champion once tipped as a potential F1 star who ultimately made five Grand Prix appearances for Theodore.
  • Born on this day in 1964: Andrea Chiesa, who qualified for three of his 10 appearances in 1992 and retired after limited success.
  • 20 years ago today Lewis Hamilton scored his first GP2 victory at the Nürburgring, winning almost 20 seconds ahead of ART teammate Alexandre Prémat despite serving a drive-through penalty for pit-lane speeding.
