Instead of restricting Red Bull from running a second team, Urvaksh proposes a different approach for Formula 1:
Allow each team to run a B team if they can afford it. That would boost the number of entrants and could bring back pre-qualifying like in earlier eras. It would help uncover new driving talent, give privateers a stake, and reveal fresh management talent. The series shouldn’t be limited to just a handful of manufacturers owning sister teams.

As the start time approached at Autopolis in Oita Prefecture, worsening weather led to two delays. The race began behind the safety car and was soon red-flagged. After a meeting of team representatives, officials cancelled the race at 3:20pm.

- Forty years ago today Alain Prost won the San Marino Grand Prix, avenging the disqualification that cost him victory the previous year.
- Born today in 1943: Helmut Marko, who won the 1971 Le Mans 24 Hours in a Porsche shared with Gijs van Lennep, and who started nine grands prix before losing sight in one eye after being struck by a stone at Clermont-Ferrand in 1972.
