Welcome to Tuesday’s edition of the RaceFans round-up.
Comment of the day
Formula 1 returns this weekend after an unexpected five-week break, but some readers say the excitement has waned:
There have been times when the racing has been dull over the 40 years-plus that I’ve been watching, and periods where things have annoyed me enough to not watch (the last few races of 2021, is an example, when I felt it clear that penalties were being used to make the title race artificially close) and I’ve truly missed the racing.
I’ve never simply not been bothered before.
Race week? Sorry, but I just don’t care.

Piastri: The mindset secrets of F1’s calmest driver (High Performance)
“It’s hard to say now. I think there’s definitely some rule changes that are a step in the right direction. Some changes around the boost function and power are complex and I need to study the details. With the current engines there’s always a compromise. What’s been most encouraging is the coordination between drivers, teams, F1 and the FIA — it’s refreshing to see that collaboration. Time will tell and further tweaks might be needed, but it feels like progress and hopefully we’ll see it on show in Miami.”
